Changi Airport Terminal 1 opened on 1 July 1981.The day had finally arrived, and on 29 and 30 June 1981, the airport relocated from Paya Lebar to Changi. Changi Airport officially opened on 1 July 1981. The first flight to land at the new airport is SQ101, a 140-passenger SIA flight from Kuala Lumpur. The first flight departing is SQ192, another Singapore Airlines flight headed for Penang.
